attack on khan sir coaching centre

Patna, June 3: A late-night attack on the coaching centre of renowned educator Khan Sir in Patna has triggered widespread concern among students and education circles, with police launching an investigation into the incident. The attack, which involved vandalism and the assault of a security guard, has also led to speculation about possible involvement of rival coaching operators, although no official confirmation has been made.

According to reports, a group of unidentified individuals entered the premises of Khan Sir’s coaching institute on Tuesday night and allegedly assaulted the security guard stationed at the centre. The injured guard was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Initial reports suggested that shots had been fired during the incident, creating panic among students and local residents. However, authorities later clarified that no firing took place and that the incident was limited to vandalism and physical assault. Property within the coaching centre was reportedly damaged during the attack.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Khan Sir arrived at the coaching centre around 11:30 PM. Speaking to the media, he alleged that anti-social elements were responsible for the attack. He further claimed that the institute had recently received threats following a felicitation ceremony organized for students who successfully cleared the Bihar Police recruitment examination.

According to Khan Sir, thousands of students from his institute were selected in the recruitment drive, prompting celebrations and recognition events. He alleged that shortly after the programme, certain individuals threatened to “blow up” the coaching centre within two days.

The popular educator also expressed suspicion that business rivalry within the coaching industry could be one of the motives behind the attack. He stated that his institution’s affordable fee structure has often drawn criticism from competitors. However, he emphasized that these allegations are his personal suspicions and that the matter should be thoroughly investigated by law enforcement agencies.

Following the incident, the coaching management submitted CCTV footage from the premises to the police. Investigators are currently examining the footage to identify the accused individuals. The injured security guard has reportedly informed police that he was able to recognize some of the attackers.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma stated that preliminary investigations indicate the possible involvement of some students in the assault and vandalism. He added that authorities are examining all angles and that appropriate action will be taken once the culprits are identified.

On Wednesday morning, a large number of students gathered outside the coaching centre to protest against the attack and demand strict action against those responsible. Police personnel were deployed in the area to maintain law and order and prevent any further disturbances.
